Meet the Carr Family

Meet the Carr Family! Danielle, Jason, Caleb and Hollis traveled in May to Washington, D.C. as the first full-gift recipients of Always Lucy Strong. Their reason for picking D.C. was two-fold: one, Jason and Danielle have become advocates for the ALS Association since Jason’s diagnosis and wanted Caleb and Hollis to be involved this year (and more impressive, the boys wanted to be involved in advocating!). Two, they wanted to show the boys the sights and sounds of D.C. and all its history.

Their trip coincided with the annual ALS Advocacy Day on Capitol Hill, where ALS advocates from across the country sit face-to-face with our lawmakers. According to Danielle, “I think we may have ignited a hunger for politics in our oldest child… one of our proudest moments as parents.”

After the success of Advocacy Day, they were able to tour D.C. for the next couple of days, where great memories were made.

From Danielle: “While going through photos I got so choked up. We had a wonderful time. It was the perfect balance of advocating, relaxing, and exploring some new experiences.”

Thank you for sharing your family and experience with us, Danielle! We’re so thrilled you had an amazing trip!
